Don’t try to master every social media platform at once.
There are way too many social media channels to be an expert at all of them. Find 1-2 that you enjoy and become great at them! I would recommend starting with Facebook and Instagram.
-
Live by this rule: 50/30/20
50% of your posts should be fun and engaging. Get your audience involved, liking and sharing your content. 30% of your posts should be news, tips and ideas. Be educational, but not boring. The other 20% is where you have an opportunity for sales. But do it in a creative way so you don’t sound so “salesy”.

Let’s be real…
If you are being overly promotional, your posts will get less priority in the news feed. Your posts should be VALUABLE, PERSONABLE, & SIMPLE. Even post pictures and videos from your phone. People like doing business with REAL people!!
-
Be consistent!
Visibility = Credibility! To have a strong platform in social media, you must post multiple times a week. No more going 2-3 weeks without letting your followers see a post from you! For Facebook, I recommend 1-2 times per day.

Is your information correct?
Always keep your contact information up to date on your social media pages and respond to ALL comments and messages you receive on your page. People remember when they feel like they have been listened to and heard.

Also, try to remember it’s a learning process
I am very familiar with different platforms, but things are constantly changing and I’m always learning new things. Take the time to learn new things and ask questions if you don’t know something. Someone out there will know, trust me.
