Leadership Claiborne Holds Graduation at Woodlake Country Club
Thursday, June 16th, 2016
The 2016 graduating class of Leadership Claiborne celebrated its completion on May 24th at Woodlake Lodge, Golf and Country Club. The Leadership Claiborne program began in 1998 to satisfy Three Star requirements for the county and is a program that falls under the Claiborne Economic Partnership. Over the past year, the class has learned about programs and industries in the county, as well as fundraised for community betterment. The graduates and their guests heard from speaker Jared Effler, 8th District Attorney General. Mr. Effler spoke on the keys to successful leadership and also auctioned off a Woodlake gift card to benefit Claiborne County Hunger Ministries. Adult class member Bobby Lassiter spoke about the class project, which was a donation to the Claiborne County CEASE Shelter. Joseph Duncan represented Cumberland Gap High School and Jordan Shipley spoke on behalf of the Claiborne High School students. Both students told how they raised money to help contribute to the project. J. Frank White Academy student members helped with the projects this year and were also in attendance. Each graduate received a diploma stating completion of the program, a framed group picture, and a Leadership Claiborne travel mug. We thank everyone for their participation in this year’s class and look forward to beginning the 2016-2017 class in August.
